On Wednesday, the Zurich Insurance Group appointed Sierra Signorelli as group manager and signed that the group's claims function will move to its commercial insurance unit.
The changes, which take effect on October 1, come shortly after Zurich announced leadership changes in North America and other regions last week and the creation of a digital services platform.
Ms. Signorelli, who joined Zurich as chief insurance officer for commercial insurance in 2017, will oversee the insurance function across the entire group in his new role, Zurich said in a statement.
Ian Thompson will continue to work as a group manager for liability, the function will move into the commercial insurance unit, the statement says.
Ms. Signorelli and Mr. Thompson will report to James Shea, CEO of Commercial Insurance in Zurich.
Zurich said it "brings the two functions together under one structure to focus on support for insurers and customers."
Ms. Signorelli was named one of the women insurance women to watch last year.
