Zurich North America makes management changes



Zurich North America said on Friday that it has appointed Jason Meador, currently head of prisoners, to lead its business in rural crop insurance services, including leadership changes.

Mr. Meador will succeed Mike Day, who is retiring, and will be responsible for RCIS's direction and strategic planning, Zurich North America said in a statement.

Meador, based in Schaumburg, Illinois, will report to Zurich North America CEO Kristof Terryn. Mr. May will stay until March 31 to help with Mr. Meador's transition.

Dawn Hiestand, now head of Zurich North America's direct market business serving car dealers, has been appointed to replace Mr. Meador as head of captives, the statement said. Hiestand, based in Schaumburg, will report to Paul Horgan, Chief Financial Officer of the United States.

Alban Laloum, currently Head of Customer, Distribution, Marketing and Regional Management for Zurich Canada, has been appointed Chief Customer Officer for Zurich North America, a new position. He will be based in Schaumburg.

As of February 1

, Mr. Laloum to be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the expanded customer office, which will now include distribution in addition to marketing and customer experience features, and report to Mr. Terryn.

In addition, Minneapolis-based Kelly Kinzer has officially become building manager since January 1, having served in a temporary role since November, following the departure of Karen Reutter.

Ms. Kinzer, who in August was named to the newly created role of head of the construction industry, injured, was a Business Insurance 40 out of 40 Broker Award winners in 2014.
