Zurich hires from Willis, Chubb for sustainability roles



On Tuesday, Zurich North America appointed former Willis Towers Watson PLC chief Alicia Pavelko and Molly Dorsett, formerly of Chubb Ltd., to newly created sustainability roles in their construction and energy teams.

Pavelko has rejoined Zurich as head of construction innovation and sustainability, and reports to Kelly Kinzer, head of the construction industry for the US National Accounts.

Pavelko, based in Minneapolis, will manage Zurich’s sustainability coverage including weather parameters, pulpwood and alternative energy and develop new construction products. She has previously been a customer advocate, senior broker in the construction industry at Willis.

Dorsett has also rejoined Zurich as head of US energy damage renewable energy sources, and reports to Jeanne Jankowski, head of US energy damage for the US National Accounts.

Based in Houston, Ms. Dorsett to develop strategic focus and product needs for Zurich̵

7;s growing renewable energy business that supports wind, solar and other types of renewable energy. She has previously been vice president, regional underwriting manager at Chubb.

Zurich has also recruited Nicholas Haller, former senior vice president of the Haller-Zaremba Insurance Agency, to the newly created position of lead underwriter of renewable energy properties in the United States.

Mr. Haller, who is based in New York, will report to Robert Edel, underwriting manager for American energy properties.

“These new roles underscore our commitment to further developing products and services that help our customers both mitigate and adapt to climate-related risks,” said Paul Lavelle, Chief Accountant of the United States National Accounts for Zurich North America, in a statement.

All three executives will work closely with the Office of Sustainability Guarantees, set up by Zurich last year, led by Mark Way.
