The National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA) is hosting its annual meeting in Galveston, Texas. The injury management tips make the event an excellent learning experience.
A tip came from former NAPIA President Ron Papa of the National Fire Adjusters (NFA). The topic was what to do if the insurance company adjuster does not call back or respond to complaints.
Insurance company adjusters have an obligation to respond to messages immediately. Failure to do so may result in a fine to the insurance company following a market investigation. So, Dad correctly noted that when an insurance adjuster does not respond, it may be an indication of something serious.
After receiving no response to many calls and letters, Ron Papa sent flowers to the adjuster̵7;s office. He offered condolences to the adjuster’s staff and colleagues after his death.
What happened? The insurance adjuster eventually called back. Other adjusters in that office also started calling back quickly. In fact, adjusters at other offices began calling back Ron Papa, saying they did not want flowers sent to their colleagues and supervisors.
Interpersonal skills and positive communication can be learned. NAPIA has some of the best property damage regulators in the country to learn from.
Love is the flower you need to grow.
