The Vermont Captive Insurance Association's 2021 Annual Conference, which will be held in Burlington in August, will be a virtual event.
The announcement comes amid uncertainty over the status of other industry events in 2021.
The Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc. recently said that its annual conference and exhibition 2021, to be held in Chicago April 18-21, will be a hybrid personal and virtual event, but can lead to a completely digital event.
Factors such as hotel / venue contract obligations, programming and technology decisions, ideal platform accessibility and estimated budget constraints for 2021 for many companies required a decision to be made before the event, the VCIA said in a statement on Friday.
Feedback from member organizations also indicated travel restrictions for 2021
"To make the VCIA Annual Conference accessible to all who know how to participate, virtual choice was chosen as the best and most inclusive option," said Rich Smith, VCIA President, in the statement.
The VCIA's annual conference 2020 was changed to a virtual format for coronavirus.
“As much as the VCIA wants to meet in person, the opportunity to have large, personal conferences in 2021 is not a sure thing. "Several economic and public health effects of the pandemic are felt among our members," said Smith.
The 2021 conference, which will be held August 10-12, will build on the success of last year's events and increase opportunities. for people to join in small group video settings, the VCIA said.
