The Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. on Monday said that the RIMS Ontario Chapter has handed over Elizabeth "Betty" Clarke, head of corporate risk and recovery for the City of St. Louis. John & # 39; s, Newfoundland, Donald M. Stuart Award.
The award has been presented annually since 1979 to celebrate Canadians who have made outstanding contributions to the risk management profession, RIMS said in a statement.
Ms. Clarke has led St John & # 39 ;s risk management function for the past 16 years and developed a cross-cutting, risk-aware culture that has enabled the growing municipality to effectively manage developing and emerging risks, RIMS said.
“Risk management continues to be a unifying force in the city of St. John & # 39 ;s and brings together different authorities to provide a safe, clean and entrepreneurial environment for residents and local businesses, ”Clarke said in the statement. "It has been a privilege to share my experiences with the Canadian Risk Management Community."

Carolyn Exelby, risk manager for the Flight Center Travel Group, is this year's recipient of the Fred H. Bossons Award, says RIMS.  This award honors the risk management professional who earns the highest average grade on the three surveys required to achieve the Canadian risk management designation.
