An impartial civil rights group has sued the Biden administration over its mandate that federal contract workers be vaccinated against covid-19 or tested weekly.
The New Civil Liberties Alliance in Washington DC filed a class action lawsuit in the U.S. District Court Monday. Michigan in Grand Rapids on behalf of 11 federal contract employees. The lawsuit, Case 1: 22-cv-00005 accuses a number of defendants – President Joe Biden, the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force, the Office of Management and Budget and other government agencies and officials – of demanding that workers take a vaccine without their consent.
According to a statement from the organization, the vaccine is required for "those with naturally acquired immunity, against medical advice from experts ̵
Two sub-classes are sought in class actions, one for naturally immune contractor workers and one for teleworkers. The plaintiffs seek legal relief from what they called the "illegal and unconstitutional" mandate.
Files legal motions against the administration's vaccine mandate – some of which have remained in court – and just before the US Supreme Court considers a mandate requiring vaccinations or weekly testing of workers at companies with more than 100 employees.
