Starr Foundation donates $15 million to Georgia State



The Starr Foundation has donated $15 million to Georgia State University’s risk management education program, the university said Tuesday.

In recognition of the gift, which is the largest in the history of Georgia State’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, the college will rename its risk management and insurance department the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Science. Mr. Greenberg is chairman and CEO of Starr Insurance Cos. and Chairman of the Starr Foundation.

The funds will be used to establish an honors scholarship program, develop an interdisciplinary program including scholarships for students pursuing other majors, and fund infrastructure for the program.

2thlargest risk management and insurance school, ranked by undergraduate education, according to Business insurances latest ranking. It’s the other onelargest ranked by graduates completing advanced degrees.
