Skyward Specialty Insurance Group Inc. said Thursday that former Richmond National Group Inc. chief Havis Wright will lead the company’s newly launched inland marine underwriting unit.
Based in Richmond, Virginia, Mr. Wright to lead the growth and development of Skyward Specialty’s inland marine operations including logistics, construction, energy and other specialty real estate markets, it said in a statement.
He reports to Kirby Hill, CEO of Industry Solutions and Programs & Captives. Wright’s role was created specifically to establish and expand the stand-alone inland marine insurance unit for Skyward Specialty’s industrial solutions division, according to an emailed statement from a spokesperson.
He most recently worked in shipping and inland commercial real estate at Richmond National.
The stand-alone business complements the inland marine coverages already established in Skyward̵
7;s construction and energy industry operations.Skyward Specialty said it provides commercial property and casualty products on both a non-endorsed and assumed basis through eight underwriting divisions – Accident and Health, Captives, Global Property, Industry Solutions, Professional Lines, Programs, Surety and Transactional Excess and Surplus.
