The Risk and Insurance Management Association's annual 2021 exhibition and exhibition, which will be held in Chicago April 18-21, 2021, is intended to be a hybrid personal and virtual event, but could lead to a completely digital event. “The conference is planned to be hybrid; the circumstances may, however, force RIMS to turn into a completely digital event, ”RIMS said in information published on its website.
The New York-based Risk Management Organization stated that it will continue to explore all options for providing a safe learning environment for RIMS 2021 and will keep the risk and insurance community up to date as it operates through the decision-making process.
A survey sent out on Tuesday to risk managers, former participants, exhibitors and others asked a series of questions to help RIMS plan the event. [1
RIMS also asked if risk professionals, if the event was held in person, would attend in person if their company had lifted any restrictions in place.
Registration for next year's conference is scheduled to open on December 1.
In March, the organization suspended its 2020 conference, scheduled for Denver, amid concerns over the coronavirus pandemic. This was the first time that RIMS interrupted the event.
The annual meeting, one of the largest international insurance and risk management events, usually draws about 10,000 people from around the world.
It is not known if RIMS had event cancellation or other insurance coverage in place for this year's event. Its insurance broker is Aon PLC.
