ATLANTA – The Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. and the Pan-Asia Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand opportunities for risk professionals throughout the Asia Pacific region to earn the RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional designation.
The Memorandum of Understanding was officially signed on Monday at the RIMS Riskworld Conference by Jennifer Santiago, RIMS 2023 Board Chair; Ward Ching, RIMS-CRMP Commission Chair; Gary A. LaBranche, RIMS CEO; and Franck Baron, PARIMA co-founder and chairman.
The goal of the partnership is to establish a standard of knowledge and professionalism for risk professionals that is accepted and recognized globally, the New York-based Risk Management Society said in a statement.
Singapore-based PARIMA will promote, market and deliver the RIMS-CRMP exam preparation workshop to the risk community in Pan-Asia while RIMS will deliver course materials, case studies and instructors as well as manage administrative and certification tasks.
RIMS-CRMP is the only accredited risk management certification globally. The certification is accredited by ANSI according to ISO/IEC 1
7024:2012.“Setting a global baseline for risk management skills and knowledge is a critical first step in advancing the profession,” LaBranche said in the statement.
“The collaboration will enable the RIMS-CRMP certification to become more relevant to the region and better position risk professionals to drive key themes of resilience and sustainability for organizations across the region,” Baron said.
The RIMS-CRMP tests qualify risk professionals in five areas: analysis of the organizational model; designing organizational risk strategies; implement the risk process; develop organizational risk competence; and support decision-making.
More information about the certification and access to study materials can be found on the RIMS website.
