Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. has appointed former Risk Manager Soraya Wright as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, after Carol Fox, who is retiring.
Ms. Wright, who previously founded and served as Chief Risk Officer for SMW Risk Management Consulting LLC, and before that was vice president of enterprise risk management at Target Corp., took the role on Jan. 4, RIMS said in a statement Monday. Miss. Wright has been an active member of RIMS for 30 years and was named one of Business Insurance 's Women to Watch.
As Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Wright will assist in identifying trends, assessing the viability of new initiatives, and evaluating existing initiatives to ensure growth and sustainability, RIMS said.
She will also lead knowledge and learning, program and content development, publications, strategic risks and corporate risks and standard development departments, says RIMS.
The position also functions as a personnel advisor and collaboration with RIMS 'strategic risk and corporate risk management and standards and practice advice.
"2020 has taught us that risk personnel must be prepared and ready to adapt to anything and, as the world's leading risk management association, RIMS must be prepared to deliver strategic solutions and resources to support the growing needs," says RIMS CEO Mary Roth in the statement. [1
