The American Society of Safety Professionals has scheduled its annual conference on September 13-15 in Austin, Texas, and is offering participants a hybrid event that will include personal and online sessions, Park Ridge, the Illinois-based organization announced Wednesday.
ASSP is one of the first organizations in the insurance and risk management industry to announce a live event for 2021 following extensive cancellations and transitions to online in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. include "increased safety and health measures to protect all participants," said ASSP President Deborah Roy in a statement, adding that such protocols as facial coatings will be mandatory.
The ASSP will combine the personal event at the Austin Convention Center with virtual access to the 60th Annual Conference, originally scheduled for June in Denver.
If the public health situation does not improve as expected, ASSP said it has the flexibility to move the conference to a fully virtual event.
