Emirates Group offers free health insurance with airline ticket purchases to cover medical quarantine costs if passengers are diagnosed with COVID-19 on their trip, the Dubai-based airline announced this month.
The offer, up to $ 176,000 in medical costs and $ 117 per day in quarantine costs for up to 14 days, aims to increase confidence in international travel during the pandemic, the airline said in a statement. "We know that people long to fly when the borders around the world gradually open up, but they seek flexibility and insurance if something unforeseen should happen during their travels," the airline said.
Coverage for COVID-19-related medical expenses and quarantine costs is effective for customers flying to Emirates until October 31
Customers "are reminded that residual restrictions remain in place, and travelers will only be accepted on flights if they meet the eligibility and entry criteria in their destination countries," according to the details of the offer.
