MS Amlin Underwriting Ltd. Former Everest Re chief executive Andrew Carrier appointed chief insurance officer to review and relocate his business, Lloyd & # 39 ;s of London insurers and reinsurers said Monday.
As part of the recast, Andrew Wright and Mark Clements, co-chief underwriting officers for special business and Phil Wooldridge, chief underwriting officer for reinsurance, will step down from their roles Sept. 30, Amlin said.
The changes will come as the insurer continues to simplify its operational model and dissolve its previous management structure, MS Amlin said in a statement.
Mr. Carrier was previously senior vice president at Everest Re Group Ltd.
As Chief Insurance Officer, Carrier will lead all of Amlin's insurance business, including the syndicate's reinsurance and special insurance departments.
Mr. Carrier will take on the new role on September 7 and report directly to Tom Clementi, CEO of MS Amlin Underwriting Ltd.
"We have removed MS Amlin PLC structures in group and legacy, making our companies narrower, stand-alone units," Clementi said in the statement.
The latest shake-up follows a restructuring announced by MS Amlin's Tokyo-based parent Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group Holdings Inc. late last year.
