Allianz Partners USA on Wednesday revealed the top 2023 spring break destinations, with Orlando, Florida and Cancun, Mexico, attracting the most American visitors in 2023.
The travel insurance and assistance company analyzed more than 2.6 million flights for trips between five and eight days and found that 84% of the reviewed itineraries are for domestic travel and 16% of travelers are heading internationally.
For the eighth consecutive year, Orlando is the top domestic destination for US travelers, followed by Phoenix (No. 2), New York (No. 3), Las Vegas (No. 4) and Los Angeles (No. 5). Florida’s beaches and sunshine continue to attract visitors with Fort Lauderdale, Florida (No. 6), Tampa, Florida (No. 7) and Miami (No. 8) making waves during the spring break season, while Americans are also heading west to Seattle ( No. 9) and Salt Lake City, Utah (No. 10).
Mexico has consistently dominated as the No. 1 international spring break destination, with four of its cities making the top 10 international destinations in 2023, including Cancun (No. 1), San Jose del Cabo (No. 2), Puerto Vallarta (No. 4) and Mexico City (No. 8).
Other notable destinations to make the top 10 list this year include London (No. 6), which jumped four places year-over-year, and Paris (No. 9), which makes its debut on the top spring break travel list for the first time since the survey’s inception in 2015.
