For the first time in three years, telemedicine is not the technology expected to have the greatest impact on the occupational injury industry in the coming decade, as it is surpassed by mobile apps, according to a study by Enlyte Group.
San Diego-based Enlyte, created by merging comp-related companies Mitchell, Coventry and Genex, surveyed 115 comp industry professionals on technology trends.
The survey ranked the best technology initiatives in 2021, with telemedicine as number 1, followed by electronic payments / invoicing, mobile apps for communication with injured workers and improved user experience and system integration as a result.

0 years, telemedicine and artificial intelligence rank second and third behind mobile apps.In total, 28% – the highest number – of those surveyed said that communication with injured workers is the step in the injury cycle that will benefit most from applying new technology.
