Homeowners in several countries can now insure their KIVIK sofas and HEMNES bureaus against fires and other mishaps with "HEMSÄKER", Ikea's new homeowners insurance product.
The Swedish furniture company Ikea has already been offered in Switzerland and Singapore and has expanded its homeowners insurance offers to Malaysia and will soon be in place in Germany, according to media reports speculating that the product could hit the US market.
Ikea's upcoming expansions were announced by the insurtech company iptiQ, a subsidiary of Swiss Re Group. "We are very pleased with the Ikea collaboration in both start-up markets," said Andreas Schertzinger, CEO, at the SZ Conference The Digital Insurance, reported by World Today News.
On its website, Ikea announces this $ 59 per year combined household and private liability policy, which covers renovations, home contents, burglaries, accidents and more.
