Although it often feels as if the coronavirus pandemic has been going on forever and for one day, the reality is that it has only been about four months since the country was first quarantined. In other words, things have developed rapidly. Fortunately, our brave first responders have led the fight and worked tirelessly day and night, often at great personal risk, to ensure that our loved ones are taken care of during this unique time.
They have done all this with little warning, relying on their training to respond to a rapid development like this highly contagious global virus. And in turn, we at Haven Life are proud to be part of an urgent response to the rapid work of healthcare staff. In particular, our parent company, MassMutual, launched a new program that gives skilled front-line workers in all 50 states a free three-year life insurance policy estimated at up to $ 25,000 ̵
The program is called HealthBridge, and it is offered by MassMutual as an extension of its LifeBridge program. “We have all witnessed the rapidly changing COVID-19 landscape, with some states – once thought to be less affected or downward trends – growing with new cases. With that increase, we see the need to continue to expand our efforts with HealthBridge, ”says Roger Crandall, President of MassMutual, President and CEO. “We now have the opportunity to offer healthcare staff self-service services that offer patients who are against COVID-19 throughout the country with a free life expectancy. The need to expand our coverage area and protect these brave and resilient individuals is not only necessary, it is of paramount importance. These free policies amount to $ 3 billion in free life insurance for eligible healthcare professionals and volunteers fighting on the front lines of the pandemic. (And yes, there are billions with a "b.")
"HealthBridge is available to doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and other healthcare professionals who have led the fight against COVID-19. It is available nationwide. As part of the larger MassMutual community is how we can say thank you and take care of those who have earned so selflessly.
If you are a healthcare professional or know someone who is and want to learn more about this program (including if you are eligible ), you can apply online, a process that should only take a few minutes. (No medical examination required. These are guaranteed issuing policies for those who are qualified.) Applicants must meet the requirements such as being between 18 and 60 years old, having US citizenship and residence permit or a permanent residence permit, be newly employed or volunteer work at least 10 hours per month at a facility that tests, treats or evaluates patients for COVID-19 and works in a role with expone risk of this fast-moving disease.
