Lexington Insurance Co., a company of American International Group Inc., has launched increased professional responsibility and general liability protection for various healthcare facilities.
Coverage is available for small and medium-sized facilities and broader mid-market care providers, including home health care services, public health care facilities, physiotherapy providers and surgical centers.
The policy provides coverage for medical managers, employees and volunteers and includes professional and general responsibility with double tower boundaries.  Available limits are $ 1 million per occurrence / a total of $ 3 million for both general and professional liability in separate towers, according to an email from a spokesman. Diem and Good Samaritan coverage.
Coverage available through approval including exercising liability for employment, crisis management, health insurance portability and liability law civil penalties and alternatives for defense costs outside the insurance limits. Policyholders' services include Lexington Healthcare Risk Management Helpline; risk assessments of areas with high exposure such as behavioral health and perioperative; on-site training / virtual risk management; virtual crisis prevention training and verbal peeling training; and emerging exposure advice and warnings.
Sue Chmieleski, Head of Health Care at Lexington, said in a statement that the business environment for healthcare companies, especially for mid-market providers, is becoming more challenging for the day.
