Lebron’s restaurant chain sets another fire in the lawsuit



A Lebron James-backed pizza chain hopes to settle in court after another restaurant chain allegedly committed trademark infringement, SFGATE reported.

James, of the Los Angeles Lakers, is a co-owner of Blaze Pizza, a company that filed a lawsuit Friday against Blaze BBQ — a restaurant with locations in Fremont, Sacramento and Salida — for operating under a similar name, the newspaper reported.

The suit also alleges that Blaze BBQ operates with the same trademark color scheme, uses an identical restaurant points system and offers pizza on its menu, according to the newspaper.

“Defendants’ actions … from their misappropriation of the BLAZE name and BLAZE marks and pizza offering, to their interior design decisions and the adoption of a flame-based rewards program – were clearly intended to confuse consumers into believing that defendants̵

7; goods and services originate from or are on otherwise affiliated with or sponsored or endorsed by Blaze,” the lawsuit states.
