The Government of Arizona, Doug Ducey, on Friday signed legislation enabling private self-insured employers to target injured workers and allow the use of mail order pharmacies in compensation to workers.
S.B. 1042, which unanimously passed the State House and Senate in early April, amends workers' compensation provisions for reimbursement guidelines for drugs given in environments that are not generally available to the public so that workers can receive drugs from mail order pharmacies as long as the medical provider does not receive a discount; refund, commission or other compensation for the referral. caregiver or pharmacy to enter into a separate agreement or network that regulates fees for workers, in which case the compensation will be made according to the negotiated fee.
The legislation enters into force immediately.
