Judge issues restraining order in Aon-Marsh poaching

A Florida court judge issued a temporary restraining order against Marsh LLC and several former Aon employees on Wednesday in connection with the broker's alleged poaching of 44 former Aon brokers. Aon Risk Solutions, from working for 90 days from his departure from Aon and former CEOs Michael Parrish and Giselle Lugones for a period of 45 days from their departure.

The order, which Aon had sought over Marsh's initial opposition, essentially prohibits these executives and nine others from disclosing confidential information, soliciting business from Aon customers, and encouraging other Aon employees to leave the company for up to two years.

Judge William Thomas of the Florida Circuit Court, which will be in effect for 1

2 months, says Aon and Marsh have agreed on the order "instead of continuing proceedings."

In a lawsuit it filed on June 24, Aon accused Marsh of having recruited "principal" Michael Parrish and other key executives to Marsh despite restrictive alliances. The Willis Towers merger, indicating disputes, was "a deliberate act of desperation and continued effort to force its remaining employees."
