An assessment of a disputed roof loss resulted in Citizens Property Insurance Company sending a recovery letter stating the following:
Are citizens now trying to harvest used roof tiles from damaged roofs and place them on other policyholders’ roofs? The image above shows how well tile harvesting works. It is a disaster for the policyholder and results in lower valued structures that actually lower the value of entire communities.
Do the claims managers at these “us vs. our customer” insurance companies have any empathy for their customers? Do they follow anything close to the golden rule most of us learned as children? Forcing used roof tiles onto another structure is crazy. It does not work.
Just when you think you’ve seen it all from the slow and underpaying insurance claims business, these geniuses come in another way to make customers lose faith in it.
An afternoon thought
The golden rule for every businessman is this: Put yourself in your customer’s shoes.
