Irish insurance fraud engages in play

Investigators in Ireland have zeroed in on the alleged sting of fake car accidents, as part of a prolonged dive in fraudulent insurance claims on slow fender benders who created as many as 40 insurance claims, The Independent reported on Friday.

Specifically, investigations established by the 43-year-old man – not mentioned in the article – "have been suspected to be involved in more than half a dozen staged accidents that have resulted in more than 40 insurance claims of two years," according to the article.

The false claims of accidents that existed or falsified between 2014 and 2016 resulted in "hundreds of thousands of euros being paid out to dozens of people known to suspect by several insurance companies" reads.

"These were all the weaknesses that were hit by low speeds, where minor injuries occurred and the events were never reported to (the police)", an investigator told a journalist.
