Insure the garlic against risks associated with luxury treatment

Extract and smear blood on a client’s face. What can go wrong?

Toronto-based CHES Special Risk Inc. on Tuesday issued a timely press release, saying that “in the spirit of Halloween, the time is right to talk about providing the right E&O insurance to the ‘Vampire Facial’ providers.”

Apparently it’s a thing, as the insurance broker goes on to explain: “Recently you must have seen celebrities on Instagram with their faces covered in blood, don’t miss it with Halloween makeup because it’s a skin care treatment popularly known as ‘vampire facial’ or platelet rich treatment.

“The procedure combines platelet-rich plasma with microneedling that is extracted from the patient̵

7;s blood and spread over the entire face to rejuvenate their skin.

“As scary as this may sound, the consequences of a mishap during this delicate treatment can be devastating for beauty professionals, resulting in unexpected financial losses, tarnished reputation and even closure,” explains CHES, adding that the procedure requires a comprehensive insurance policy.
