The Federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said on Wednesday that it has introduced a ransomware module in its Cyber Security Evaluation Tool.
The Federal Bureau of Statistics said that CSET is a desktop software tool that guides network defenders through a step-by-step process for evaluating their network's cyber security practices.
The new module Ransomware Readiness Assessment is a self-assessment designed to help organizations better assess how well equipped they are to defend and recover from a ransomware incident, the agency said. it is tailored to be useful for all organizations regardless of cybersecurity maturity.
It is said that the module helps organizations to evaluate their cyber security status. guides operators through a systematic process to evaluate their operational and information technology security practices against the ransomware threat; and provides assessment results in both summary and detailed form.
