Everest Insurance, the insurance arm of Everest Re Group Ltd., said Tuesday that former Axa XL executive Renato Rodrigues has been named president and CEO of Everest Insurance Co. in Canada.
Mr. Rodrigues will lead Everest’s Canada insurance business strategy and oversee its underwriting, claims, operations and finance functions, Everest said in a statement.
He will be based in Toronto and will report to Mike Mulray, president of North America Insurance, Everest said in a statement.
Mr. Rodrigues joins Everest from Axa XL, a division of Axa SA, where he was most recently the country manager for Canada as well as the managing director and chief agent of its Canada insurance business, the statement said.
Everest also said Tuesday that Luke Lichty, interim CEO of Everest Insurance Co. in Canada, has been named head of commercial and specialty insurance.
Mr. Lichty will lead the commercial business development strategy and will oversee the Canadian underwriting team.
He will be based in Toronto and report to Mr. Rodrigues.
