Everest Insurance, the insurance division of Everest Re Group Ltd., said on Thursday that Erik Nikodem, CEO of Global Property, will retire in mid-July and has appointed three executives to take over his responsibilities.
Chris Curtin, former head of wholesale real estate, has been named senior vice president and head of US real estate. Mr. Curtin, based in Boston, will report to Mike Karmilowicz, President and CEO.
Patrick Hagerty, former Vice President of Corporate Underwriting, has been named Vice President, Division of Insurance for U.S. Real Estate. Mr. Hagerty, based in New York, will report to Mr. Curtin.
Maria Grace, Head of International Property, has been appointed Chief Underwriting Officer for Global Property. Grace, based in London, will report to Mike Mulray, Everest̵7;s chief operating officer and chief insurance officer.
As head of American real estate, Mr. Curtin, who joined Everest in 2016, will be responsible for driving growth in the company’s US real estate business and will oversee its real estate guarantee strategy.
Mr. Hagerty, who joined Everest from American International Group Inc. last year, will focus on delivering insurance profitability across all U.S. real estate business units. He will also serve as a member of the Global Real Estate Management Team.
Nikodem joined Everest from AIG in 2016 to lead its newly formed US real estate division. He was named Global Property Manager 2020.
