California Civil Code states:
Any necessary force can be used to protect yourself or property, wife, spouse, children, parent or other relative or member of one's family, or by a congregation, servant, master or guest. . not motivated just to defend property. Spring guns or other lethal mechanical devices may only be used if lethal force is justified. Lethal force can be used against a serious offender.
Defense against defamation
Defense against accusations of defamation include, but are not limited to, truth. This is a complete defense. Reasonable but erroneous belief in the truth of the accusation is no defense. The false belief only changes the torture from intentional to negligent libel.
Defense against False Imprisonment
Reasonable detention without arrest is a legal privilege codified by California Penal Code 490.5 (f) (1). For example, a storekeeper who believes that a theft has been committed may detain the suspect for a reasonable period of time. torture of malicious prosecution.
