Westfield & # 39 ;s Legacy of Caring donation helps Logan County recover from the pandemic.
BELLEFONTAINE, OHIO, June 28, 2021, – The United Way of Logan County was nominated by CoverLink Insurance to receive a $ 5,000 donation to help the Logan County community as part of Westfield's Legacy of Caring program. Each year, Westfield Independent Insurance Agents, such as CoverLink Insurance, are invited to nominate a local nonprofit to the Legacy of Caring program. The Westfield Insurance Foundation, an independent private foundation with Westfield, awards the donation as an extension of the basic role that insurance plays every day in stabilizing families, businesses and communities in times of uncertainty.
This year, the grant program, funded by the Westfield Insurance Foundation, focuses on supporting nonprofits that help families and businesses stabilize and recover from the economic effects of the COVID-1
"When Our Businesses and Schools Reopen and" Return to Normal, "Westfield's Legacy of Caring Program reminds us that it can take years to return to the stability and security of people and businesses, including non-profit organizations, enjoyed before the pandemic occurred, "said Tim O & # 39; Rielley, Senior Insurance Advisor at CoverLink.
"For many, COVID-19 was a nuisance and life has long since returned to normal," said Dave Bezusko, executive director of United Way of Logan County. “But for others, the effect continues. This generous gift demonstrates the CoverLink family's ongoing commitment to caring for our community and will enable us to respond to the various economic and psychological challenges that remain. Just as CoverLink Insurance has served Logan County families for generations to cover times of unexpected need, so United Way has responded with humanitarian assistance when our community members need it most.
The Westfield Insurance Foundation will donate more than $ 600,000 to neighborhoods across the country. CoverLink Insurance is one of nearly 100 agencies that nominated a nonprofit organization, including United Way of Logan County, for the Westfield Legacy of Caring Grant Program. Westfield is proud to partner with its independent agents to distribute over $ 3 million since 2015.
"We value our partnerships with our independent insurance agencies," said Ed Largent, Westfield CEO, CEO and Westfield Insurance Foundation chairman. "2020 was an incredibly tough year and Westfield realizes that families trying to achieve and maintain stability faced several obstacles to success. Investing in our agents' communities will help families achieve short-term success with long-term results.
