CorVel Corp., a Fort Worth, Texas-based national provider of risk management and work compensation services, on Wednesday launched a new injury risk score interface in Care Edge, CorVel’s integrated injury management platform.
This new feature uses artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to identify out-of-the-box claims and provide risk-related intervention recommendations, according to a statement.
The risk outcome uses advanced technology to assess all data elements about a claim and assess its risk level, including several factors such as estimates of return to work, demands on physical demand, pain levels, applicant’s medical compliance, comorbidities, claim history, age and other psychosocial indicators.
With each factor analyzed, corresponding measures are triggered to help the adjuster handle problems in real time. The risk points and warnings start as early as day one of the claim and will be continuously recalculated and adjusted when further information about the claim becomes available.
