Contestants say not everything is fair in “Love Is Blind”

A participant in the second season of the Netflix reality series “Love Is Blind” accuses the program’s producers of being blind to labor laws and occupational safety.

A lawsuit filed by Jeremy Hartwell in the California Supreme Court in Los Angeles claims that the producers forced participating members to drink alcohol and deprived them of food, water and external contacts, all while paying prices below the Los Angeles County minimum wage and incorrectly classifying them as entrepreneurs instead of full-time workers under state law, according to Variety magazine.

The trial names as defendants Netflix, production company Kinetic Content and Kinetic’s casting company, Delirium TV, all of which did not comment on the allegations.

The producers of the show “deliberately underpaid the actors, deprived them of food, water and sleep, drank them alcohol and interrupted their access to personal contacts and most of the outside world. This made the actors hungry for social contacts and changed their feelings and decision making,”

; says Mr. Hartwell’s lawyer for Variety.
