Several occupational compensation insiders have announced plans to launch WorkCompCollege.com LLC in the fall, providing training for skilled workers, with an emphasis on “soft skills” for whole-person recovery management on a virtual, on-demand technology platform.
The basic curriculum will include courses in claims, stakeholders, law, regulatory / legislative, clinical, return to work and the humanities. Graduates of the national program will receive a “Workers’ Recovery Professional”, or WRP, certification created by WorkCompCollege.com.
The platform is the result of a partnership between Robert Wilson, Bradenton, Florida-based founding partner, president and CEO of WorkersCompensation.com, who will serve as the platform̵7;s president; Mark Pew, Peachtree Corners, Georgia-based founder of consulting firm RxProfessor LLC, who will serve as the school’s provost; and Donald Abrams, Austin, Texas-based president and CEO of Clinical Compensation Consultants, who will serve as CFO.
A board was recently announced, consisting of eight compensation professionals, including those working with state regulators, lawyers, claims settlers and insurance companies.
