Chubb Ltd. said on Thursday that it has promoted two executives of its North American commercial real estate and damages companies to positions with additional portfolios.
Seth Gillston, now head of private equity and the real estate and hospitality industry, has been named CEO. Vice President of Chubbs Global Accident and Multinational Field Operations in North America, where he will oversee the field operations of Chubbs Global Accident and Multinational Operations and report to Lou Capparelli, Vice President of Chubbs Global Accident Unit, the insurer said in a statement on Thursday.
Mr. Gillston, who will remain based in New York, will also continue to serve as head of Chubb's private equity business, reporting to Matt Merna, senior vice president, Chubb Group and division president, North America's major accounts.
Bill Hazelton, appointed in October to a new role focused on strategic initiatives in Chubb's North American operations, reporting to John Lupica, Vice President, Chubb Group and President, North America Insurance, was also given an expanded role.
Mr. Hazelton, which will remain based in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, will now also take over the management of Chubb's real estate and hospitality business, reporting to Mr. Merna.
Mr. Gillston has more than 25 years of industry experience and joined Chubb in 2000, the statement said.
Mr. Hazelton joined Chubb in 2005 and has served as its Chief of Compensation and as Chubb's Leader for the Environment, Excess Accidents and the Construction Industry.
