You can’t be blamed for thinking that if there’s one dog in the world that needs insurance, it’s Charlie Brown’s dog Snoopy.
The cartoon dog is coming aboard MetLife Pet Insurance to help “build greater awareness of the critical importance of health insurance for pets,” the insurer said in a statement.
In fact, perhaps no one knows this better than Snoopy himself, who is said to have both a pool table and a Van Gogh in his doghouse.
MetLife says that while there are more than 90 million families with pets in the U.S. today, less than 3% of those pets are insured. The insurer added that 84% of pet parents reported increased pet care costs in 2022, and a further 50% were concerned that rising costs will prevent them from being a pet parent in the future. MetLife entered the pet insurance category in 2020, the statement said.
This isn̵7;t the first collaboration between the cartoon dog and the insurer, which “had a more than 30-year partnership until 2016,” MetLife said.
