California Association of Public Insurance Adjusters to Hold Legislative Continuing Education Conference Next Week | Property Insurance Protection Law Blog

The California Association of Public Insurance Adjusters will hold a continuing education session followed by a legislative day next week. Fittingly, it will be held in Sacramento, California, so that public adjusters can visit government leaders. Assuming I finish and don’t sink during the Islands Race to San Diego on the Merlin this weekend, I will be doing a presentation with Amy Bach of United Policyholders next Tuesday, February 27th.

Our presentation, Significant and relatively recent property insurance legislation in California, is a good seminar to make sure you are “caught”

; by current California law and not adjusting past losses.

Here is the full agenda:

Public adjusters increasingly need to be involved in legislative matters. Property insurance companies used to be much less involved in property insurance legislation rather than motor and other insurance matters. This is no longer the case. The insurance industry lobby has public adjustment on its radar.

Finally I will have my book, Mavericks & Merlins: Sailors and Renegades leave the coast, how about you?, for free signature. But only for those who show up for this event next week.

Today’s thought

Lawyers are usually some of the worst leaders, partly because we tend to think we know it all, and partly because leadership is not taught in law.
