Bill aims to protect workers, punish claims delays



Two bills were presented in the New Hampshire House of Representatives on Wednesday that addressed labor and employment issues over productivity quotas and non-payment of benefits.

H.B. 1076 aims to establish a subdivision for productivity quotas and to amend the legal guidelines for workers' rights and rights. The bill aims to require every employer to provide employees with a written description of each quota, including productivity expectations, time frames and any negative employment measures that could result from the quota not being met.

The bill also aims to protect workers. from illegal quotas or interpretations of productivity by prohibiting employers from taking negative employment measures for failure to comply with a quota that does not allow a worker to comply with meal and rest periods, or occupational safety laws in state laws or departmental rules, or for failure to comply with a quota that does not has been provided to the employee.

HB 1

231 aims to prevent insurance companies from intentionally delaying or denying payments for lost wages to injured workers. Under this bill, insurers or self-insurers who do not submit a memorandum on time or delay payment of claims would be required to pay interest to the injured worker and a civil penalty of up to $ 2,500.

Public hearings have been scheduled for H.B. 1076 and H.B. 1231 on January 13 and January 20, respectively.
