For almost two years, it seemed like every day was National Pets at Work Day, as crowds of pandemic-spurred teleworkers received dogs as an ointment for solitude, or as an excuse to go out and walk around the neighborhood.
On the real national day for pets at work – today, April 19 – Petco Health and Wellness Company Inc. advocates for employees to continue working with pets by their side and encourages employers to add pet-friendly employee benefits.
A survey conducted by Petco found that 69% of pet owners are stressed about what it means for their pets to return to work; almost half want their employers to adopt a pet-friendly workplace; and 41% say they would consider changing jobs if that meant they could take their pet to work.
“After two years of teleworking, employers returning to a culture in the office are looking for ways to make it a more positive experience for employees,”
; a Petco official said in a statement. “Pet-friendly programs can not only offer employers a competitive advantage, they can also provide many health and wellness benefits for both humans and pets.”Source link
