According to a report in the New York Times on Friday, New York state prosecutors interviewed Aon PLC employees in connection with an investigation into President Trump.
Referring to "persons with knowledge of the matter", the publication reported that interviews were in connection with an investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. about Trump's behavior as a private entrepreneur and whether he or employees of the Trump Organization committed financial crimes.
Aon confirmed that it had received a lawsuit from Mr. Vance. "We can confirm that we received a lawsuit from the Manhattan District Attorney's office. Just like our policy, we intend to cooperate with all regulatory bodies. We do not comment on specific customer issues, says a spokeswoman for the broker in an email.
A spokesman for Vance declined to comment on the report.
Earlier this year, Vance suggested that a jury vote on Trump's tax returns be part of an investigation into possible criminal behavior, including alleged insurance and bank fraud.
According to the New York Times article, Deutsche Bank employees are also interviewed. None of the companies are suspected of wrongdoing, the article says.
