A wholesale brokerage unit, Amwins Group Inc., introduces coverage for vehicle-related and other risks with a fronting insurance company, it said Tuesday.
Trinity Underwriting Managers, a unit in Charlotte, North Carolina-based Amwins, will offer insurance for towing, vehicle, sand and gravel repossession, paratransit and intermodal trucking companies with front-line insurance company Obsidian Insurance, a San Francisco-based Genstar unit Capital LLC, says a statement.
Intermodal refers to the use of two conveyors for transporting goods from the sender to the recipient.
The program provides $ 1 million in car liability, $ 300,000 in cargo coverage and $ 250,000 in physical damage, according to a spokeswoman.
TUMI, as part of Amwin's Underwriting, specializes in designing marketing and notifying niche transportation programs, the announcement said.
The Obsidian Partnership is said to increase reinsurance ratios, providing the opportunity to write more premiums on a larger scale and expand its product and program offerings.
