Insurance agents everywhere can be calm. Not many consumers want to turn to a computer when it comes to securing insurance coverage, according to a new survey.
The Agentero digital insurance network surveyed 1,000 consumers aged 18 to 75 in October 2021 and found that 77% of consumers who have worked with an insurance agent would do so again and 65% of consumers, whether they have ever worked with an agent in the past, would seek one in the future.
According to the results, released in January, Gen Z is least likely to have worked with an insurance agent, only 43%. This is in stark contrast to Baby Boomers, of which 84% have used an agent.
When younger generations work with an agent, they are most likely to do so again: 84% of Millennials and 69% of Gen Z would use agent again. Still, the youngest consumers, Gen Z, are more suspicious of agents having their best interests at heart. Overall, only 50% of Gen Zs said they always or usually trust their insurance agent. But trust is rising dramatically with Millennials: 74% said they always or usually trust their agent.
