The decision, I re Oheb, No. 99-C-11161 (Cal. Bar Rev. 07/16/2004) recommended a judge that the respondent Tamir Oheb be placed in four year of residence permit and in four years of probation, including two years of actual suspension. Oheb acknowledged that "
Oheb, after appealing for nolo contendere, was convicted in Los Angeles Superior Court of two counts of violating section 549 of the Penal Code for accepting referrals to personal injury clients with ruthless violation of whether the referring party or clients referred make false or fraudulent insurance claims.
Given that either negligent disregard or knowledge of the intent of another to commit insurance fraud is part of the crime – as Oheb promised the "ruthless disregard" element, the lawyer stated that it could not conclude that section 549 of the Penal Code involves moral unrest.
Oheb was told and believed that Gottlieb had been a very successful "lawyer for 25 years plus that [Gottlieb] was a dispute, [that Gottlieb] had worked for a number of famous lawyers," that Gottlieb had a "huge business book" that he was willing to refer to the respondent and that he was willing to teach respondents how to try disputes. referred to Oheb: 25 percent to Oheb and 75 percent to Gottlieb when Gottlieb had to buy the case or otherwise had to pay money to someone in connection with the case, and 50 percent each when Gottlieb did not have to buy the case or otherwise must pay for any costs associated with the case or when Gottlieb purchased the case from a specific person who did not charge much for cases.
