Homeowners insurance is nothing more than an agreement between a person seeking insurance and an insurance company that promises to protect the insured against the risk of loss of certain described property or liability to third parties. The insurer can be set up as a stock insurance company, a mutual insurance company, an interinsurance exchange or a syndicate of insurance companies that write through an insurance market such as Lloyd & # 39 ;s, London. Household insurance is obtained by the person or entity applying for insurance (the insured) who contacts the insurer as a potential insured applying for insurance. The contact can be directly to the insurer or through contact via an agent or a broker's services.
The household policy is a special insurance that insures the homeowner from certain risks of loss of the real and personal property at home, the exposure to which the insured is exposed to damage to a household employee and the exposure the insured faces liability for bodily injury or property damage caused by third party. or content is damaged by an identified cause of loss.
The insured, on the other hand, promises to pay a premium and meet the terms of the insurance.
There are three ways in which a prospective insured can get an insurance policy:
- Contact with an insurance agent.
- Contact with an insurance broker.
- Contact with a direct writing insurance company.
