2022 Business insurance The US Insurance Awards celebrate teams working in the insurance and risk management sector who provide solutions to problems faced by commercial insurance buyers and who support the industry.
Finalists and winners include risk management teams that improve return-to-work programs, brokers that find new capacity for their clients, insurers that provide coverage that responds to the evolving economy, and efforts by diverse businesses to support their communities and improve their work environments.
The centerpiece of the awards event, held in New York in September, was the presentation of the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award to J. Patrick Gallagher Jr., chairman, president and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., who was also inducted into Business insurance Hall of Fame (see profile here).
The team awards recognize the achievements of groups of insurance and risk management professionals who collaborated on specific projects.
The nomination period for the awards began in April and we received over 150 nominations. Business insurance staff selected finalists in 10 categories.
The winners were selected by a panel of more than 30 risk managers who independently assessed each of the finalists.
The awards event also raised more money Business insurance Scholarship, which was established to help address the talent shortage facing the insurance industry and is administered by the Spencer Educational Foundation Inc. This year’s recipients are Sebastian Czerwinski, a mathematics and actuarial science major at Illinois State University in Normal, and Sienna Sigmon, a risk management and insurance major at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.
